What is keyword density?
Keyword density represents the number of times a specific keyword or key phrase is used on a webpage. This number is calculated by dividing the times the target keyword is used by the total number of words on the page.
Keyword density example
The focus keyword “seo services” is used 13 times on a page.
The complete article contains 1000 words.
This results in a keyword density of 1.3%.
Keyword density formula
(Focus keyword count / total number of words on the page) * 100 = keyword density
Tool limitations
For non-English countries the keyword ranking database contains less results. For this reason it’s recommended to use single and two word phrases as keyword input.
